Experience and Requirements
Bachelors from an accredited school of Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer’s License in good standing.
4+ years of experience in Land Development and Municipal Engineering
Candidate should possess good communication, verbal and technical writing skills.
Software experience should include, Civil 3D, Hydro-flow, Hydro-CAD, AutoCad, Microsoft Office.
Experience in Site Layout, Grading, Drainage, Utility, Erosion Control and Lighting Design.
Analytical ability, pro-active attitude, and ability to think “outside the box” when required.
Familiarity with analyzing local zoning ordinances and NJDEP permitting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Project planning including providing recommendations, preparing cost estimates, and developing solutions.
Site plan design and preparation of specifications.
Preparation of and management of NJDOT Local Aid, Open Space and CDBG grant applications and programs.

NEA is looking for talented, energetic and self-motivated employee for our construction department. The successful candidate will inspect contractor operations in various roads in order to maintain compliance with contract specifications and site plans. Candidate will need to communicate with the prime contractor, traffic control personnel, utility companies and representatives from various agencies. Ideal candidate must have leadership experience and excellent communication skills, including the ability to handle conflict with diplomacy and tact.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Working knowledge of mathematics with the ability to apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field measurements and adjustments

Ability to work nights, weekends and overtime

Neglia Engineering Associates is seeking a full time Field Surveyor/Crew Chief to join our expanding survey team at our Lyndhurst, New Jersey location. This individual should be motivated and hardworking and will be responsible for the completion of survey related assignments while supervising and mentoring fellow survey crew members.

Our services extend throughout northern and central New Jersey and into New York. Our survey team uses the latest technologies to meet the complex needs of our internal and external clients. We complete Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Utility Surveys, Route Surveys, Construction Layout, FEMA related Surveys, and more.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned survey field crew on quality and survey methodology
-Work as an individual (when requested) to complete assigned tasks in an accurate and efficient manner
-Perform field reconnaissance of evidence and make appropriate decisions on how to proceed with the survey
-Make necessary calculations and maintain adequate records of work performed, including photographs
-Download field collected data
-Insure equipment and vehicle are maintained properly
-Maintain inventory of all assigned equipment
-Communicate with entire survey team, including project managers, to maximize efficiency
-Communicate with clients in a professional manner
-Determine most efficient means to complete assignments using the tools available
-Never stop learning
-High School Diploma or GED, additional courses towards a surveying related degree a plus
-Minimum of 5 years of experience working with a land surveying crew
-Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Party Chief preferred
30 hour OSHA & 10 Hour OSHA Construction Safety preferred
-Experience using Leica conventional, robotic, and GPS equipment preferred
-Familiarity with data collection for boundary, topographic, and utility surveys
-Familiarity with construction layout methods preferred
-Thorough knowledge of data collection for conventional and GPS survey methods
-Ability to adapt to new technologies and equipment
-Ability to work outside in all seasons
-Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks such as lifting and carrying equipment over rough terrain
-A valid New Jersey Drivers license is required
